Fungi mediate many key ecological interactions that determine plant community composition, ecosystem productivity and drive biogeochemical cycling. Recent work has begun to apply function-based classifications to fungi facilitating trait-based analyses of fungal diversity, and providing insights into compositional variation across fungal communities surveyed using metagonomic approaches. In this group we will select a paper on these topics to read and discuss each week. Discussions will be held via Zoom.
