Section Info:
Geared primarily for graduate students in English and American Literature as well as Writing Studies, this seminar is a workshop in publishing journal articles. Over the course of four weeks, students will be transforming a seminar paper, dissertation chapter, or panel paper into an essay for submission to a scholarly journal. We will be examining how this conversion process takes place by executing several drafts of the work students bring to the seminar. Our process is mainly peer review, as each participant will engage with others' writing as well as her or his own. Attention will also be paid to submission protocols: how to choose a journal, correspond with editors, read judges' reports, etc.
Restriction(s):
Restricted to Graduate - Urbana-Champaign.
