Manufacturing Automation
Section Info:
Prerequisites: MATH 231 and SE 101. This is an introductory course on manufacturing automation, to provide students with the coverage of manufacturing systems, how they are sometimes automated and computerized, and how they can be mathematically analyzed to obtain performance metrics. The course covers manufacturing processes overview, automation and control techniques for manufacturing, material handling and automated storage systems, and flexible manufacturing systems. There are manufacturing lab sessions along with the course lecture for students to work on course projects, in which they program the manufacturing equipment, design and build parts, analyze the performances.
Restriction(s):
Restricted to Grainger Engineering. Restricted to students with Sophomore or Junior class standing.
