Section Info:
Topic: Popular Culture: Dr. Who & Philosophy. Utilizing 55+ years of television/film/art, this graduate course explores various philosophical concepts, such as-- identity, science, time & space, ethics, ontology, aesthetics, and culture-- through the lens of the BBC televised program Doctor Who. Watching the television program will be an integral part of the coursework, along with reading theoretical scholarship, completing substantial weekly academic writing, leading/participating in group discussion, and curating a final project/presentation. Being a fan of the show is not necessary, though it will make it much more exciting to engage with the philosophical wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey… stuff that we will encounter."
