Section Info:
From plastic pollution and oceanic dead zones to climate change and mass extinction, environmental crises now constitute existential threats to both human societies and nonhuman ecosystems. This class is focused on thinking through and writing about these threats in their local and global manifestations. Working across a variety of forms and genres—from the op-ed and the policy paper to the magazine article and the personal essay—students will develop their skills in environmental communication while researching subjects of their own interest, ranging from regional energy infrastructures and campus sustainability to rising sea levels and climate migration in a warming world
