Section Info:
This is a writing workshop designed for graduate students to turn promising seminar paper into publishable articles. Students will spend the four weeks revising essays, commenting on each other’s drafts, and discussing how to place articles in suitable journals. There are three primary goals for this workshop: 1) To have an article—ideally a publishable article--in the mail by the end of June. 2) To learn a process that works for you that can get you quickly over bumps in the road and that you can carry forward to your next article, and your next, and your next… 3) To learn structures of argumentation that work for you and that can help you in your future work. Given the compressed time frame for 593, students will meet in smaller groups or with the professor on staggered days, giving you the opportunity to spend time on your own writing.
