Instruction in developing research-based arguments of moderate complexity within a special topics format. Introduction to the use of multimodal or other non-print resources as evidence in written arguments.

Prerequisite: Completion of campus Composition I general education requirement.

Section Info: In this course, you will use writing to create podcasts, vlogs, how-to videos, reviews, comics, blog posts, clickbait headlines, and even phishing scams. The purpose of the class is to build your writing skills at a moment when many productive writers work across media, platforms, and devices. Students should expect a workshop environment in which you create things in class. Expect to work on teams for some projects and alone for others. Expect to learn some code (simple html), work with video and audio editing software, and use a smartphone as a writing tool.
