Examines public and political life from the perspective of public and political leaders. Topics include professional development, career narratives, and/or development or selection of opportunities for civic or public service.

May be repeated in separate terms if topics to vary to a maximum of 3 hours.

The course will emphasize the development of personal and civic objectives and skills, as well as professional development in a dynamic and fragmented local, national and global community. Topics include: taking stock of values and skills, examining contemporary civic careers, evaluating educational opportunities, preparing career narratives, networking, and selecting career opportunities. While all students are welcome, this course is focused on the particular needs and interests of seniors, juniors and sophomores in the social sciences especially political science. Restriction(s): Not intended for students with Freshman class standing.
