Section Title:
Thucydides
Section Info:
Description: Thucydides remains among the most frequently read of all classical authors, extending his influence even into present-day foreign policy discussions in Washington. This course will accordingly approach Thucydides more as a thinker than a prose stylist (although the latter will certainly receive considerable attention as well), highlighting both his most influential passages and those that are too often ignored, with the overall goal of equipping students to speak and write with authority about an author of widely acknowledge importance.
