Poétiques Politiques Actions: Introduction to contemporary French poets with particular focus on questions of community, literal/figural meaning, lyrical voice, and experimental forms, from the mid 20th century to the present (Bonnefoy, Ponge, Roche, Roubaud, Hocquard, Gleize). Study of community via critical essays by poets and philosophers. Analysis of performance and actions poétiques in the age of global electronic dissemination (webpoetry, cinépoèmes, & ‘postpoésie’).
