The Chemistry Department at Illinois invites you to register for their Summer Study-Abroad program, hosted at the Center for Natural Products Research in San José, Costa Rica (CIPRONA). The Center is dedicated to the study of substances derived from natural products and is managed by a group of scientists associated with the University of Costa Rica and has operated for over 30 years. Some of the group's projects focus on elucidating molecular structures of substances present in several known plants that have been traditionally used due to their therapeutic properties. Additionally, there are projects involved in the structural determination of natural polymers and other substances that can be used in agriculture and also in water remediation.
