Teaching Art at the College Level is intended for all graduate art, design, art education, and art history students interested in making the academy part of their post-graduate professional experience. The course's topics of study range from the practical to the philosophical and many combinations along that spectrum. Some of these topics include: Curriculum design, reconceptualization, and implementation; art pedagogy and educational philosophy; critical theory and graduate scholarship within the art school; higher education professional practices; assessment, critique, and generativity; power dynamics of the academy and institutional literacy during and after art school; ethic of education; and teaching as first social practice. This course deliberately compliments the creative and professional trajectories of its participants.
