Topic: Teaching Art at the College Level. Teaching Art at the College Level is intended for all graduate art, design, art education, and art history students interested in making the academy part of their post-graduate professional experience. The course's topics of study range from the practical to the philosophical and many combinations along that spectrum. Some of these topics include: Curriculum design, reconceptualization, and implementation; art pedagogy and educational philosophy; critical theory and graduate scholarship within the art school; higher education professional practices; assessment, critique, and generativity; power dynamics of the academy and institutional literacy during and after art school; ethic of education; and teaching as first social practice. This course deliberately compliments the creative and professional trajectories of its participants.
