NRES 428
Fall 2018 All Classes
Credit: 3 hours.
Building sustainable communities and ecosystems requires an understanding of how and why people make decisions about the environment. This course will explore how values, attitudes, and concepts of place (e.g., attachment, place meanings) relate to environmental behavior. Students will transfer theoretical knowledge of behavior change science and state-of-the art methodologies to resource management challenges, focusing particular attention on the human dimensions of fisheries management, conservation in parks and protected areas, and sustainable energy use.
3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. Prerequisite: NRES 287.
