What does it mean to say that someone “sounds black”... or to admiringly remark that Spanish is a “sexy language”... or to accuse someone of “pulling the race card?” This course takes on past and present social issues and headlines by welding race theory and linguistic anthropological theory to better understand how we ideologically and quantifiably sort one another via language.
