Theory of Reinforced Concrete

Credit: 4 hours.

Concrete materials; behavior of reinforced concrete construction; behavior and design of structural elements, one-way slabs, beams, and girders; columns; ACI code requirements; and introduction to continuity in reinforced concrete structures.

The majority of the lectures will be viewed by the students on-line via pre-recorded videos. You will be expected to keep up with the videos, participate in on-line labs, etc. On Tuesday and Thursday evening, June 15, 2017 - August 3, 2017, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm CDT, we will all meet (live) on-line via GoTo Meeting. We will use this time to review your progress with the videos and readings; as well, assist you with you assignments (similar to a lab section) and also take quizzes. On Monday, June 12, 2017, we will have a mandatory course introduction from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm CDT via GoTo Meeting. We will review the syllabus, discuss blended learning environment, access to the course videos, the Interactive Response Systems, etc.
