Credit: 3 hours.
Provides an overview of traumatic stress, with a particular emphasis on the biological and social factors that shape human responses to trauma. Students will become familiar with the definition and range of potentially traumatic events in various social contexts (e.g. military vs. civilian), as well as the genetic and environmental features that influence vulnerability vs. resilience to trauma.
Prerequisite: PSYC 100 or equivalent.
