“Hear My Voice” (HMV) is a multimedia web and researched based publication that assists in Creating Pathways & Supporting Diverse Voices of Inclusivity. Students across disciplines can find a home here. Through teaching, scholarship, research and service, HMV will assist students in creating professional multimedia elements and platforms that allow students to talk with and learn from one another, faculty, staff, as well as the community about Inclusivity, Unity and Leadership Development within a Collective. Dr. Janice Collins' "Active Centralized Empowerment" pedagogical approach of self empowerment is the framework used for this class.

Section Title:
Investigative JOUR in Film
Section Info:
This course will look at films that have most accurately portrayed the work of investigative journalists with in-class discussions about the films. We will view excerpts from films that include All the President’s Men, The Insider, Page One, and Spotlight and talk about the differences between stereotypes of investigative journalists and how the journalists actually work. The course also will include a historical overview of investigative journalism, how it has developed in sophistication and approaches, and its presentation in films over the past 80 years.
