Students will help develop programming that encourages cultural exchange and mutual learning dedicated to building a stronger campus community. Academic readings, weekly seminar discussions, and cultural immersion experiences will explore the intersections of cultures, identities, and social justice issues on campus, nationally, and internationally. Students will receive 1 credit hour of Global Studies 199 - Independent Study and a bi-weekly stipend. This global learning opportunity is designed to develop opportunities for cultural exchange and mutual learning dedicated to building stronger communities locally. In an effort to develop global leadership skills, students will engage in classroom discussions, and out-of-classroom cultural immersion experiences including a daytrip to Chicago's Chinatown.
