Sustainable Development in South Asia

Credit: 3 hours.

Examination of sustainable development in the region of South Asia (India, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka). Geographic analysis of development processes since the colonial period, with particular emphasis on the interrelated processes of environment, society, and politics as related to sustainability.

Prerequisite: Sophomore standing or consent of instructor.
