Credit: 4 hours.

Theory and application of concepts in traffic signal systems control, signal timing design, signal cabinet components, signal controllers, traffic signal theory and control, vehicle detection technologies, communication methods, interconnected rail-highway crossing signals, signal coordination, and signal systems network. Field trips to observe or utilize equipment in the Traffic Operations Lab (TOL) in ATREL or similar facilities.

Prerequisite: CEE 416.
