Comprehensive overview and synthesis of global environmental problems and their relationships to human activities, with a focus on ecological and natural resource elements. Concerns include unsound ethics and concepts of development and modernization, the lack of motivation or funding to implement available technical solutions, the promotion of alternative development ethics, and a review of opportunities to maintain or improve the well-being of people, other organisms, and the environment.

Same as CPSC 439. 3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. Prerequisite: NRES 219 or ACE 210.
