Immig, Mulitcult & Pol of Fear
Section Info:
Topic: Immigration, Multiculturalism and Politics of Fear. This course will offer an understanding of key notions of migration, integration, right-wing populism, Islamophobia and assimilation in contemporary Europe. The course will also bring together the migration related discussions within the European Commission as well as in the individual member states. Some themes of the course are socially sensitive, and students need to remain open-minded and respectful towards one another’s points of view. This course is open to graduate students. This is a 1 cr. hour course and will meet on March 14 & 28, April 4,11, 18 & 25, and May 2nd at 3-5:30PM. For more information, contact Sebnem Ozkan at asozkan@illinois.edu.
