Provides advanced international students opportunities to improve skills in speaking and presenting research in academic settings. Students will practice orally explaining their research, asking questions and giving and receiving feedback with the aim of creating and delivering compelling, professional presentations. Writing opportunities are negotiated based on student needs and interest. In addition, regular individual conferences with the instructor will supplement peer feedback.
Approved for S/U grading only. Credit is not given toward a graduate degree. Prerequisite: ESL 501, or recommendation from UIUC English as a Second Language Placement Test.
Proof of eligibility must be brought to the first meeting of the class.
