Students will also be introduced to molecular biology techniques for characterizing environmental microbial populations and bioinformatics tools to aid in the interpretation of molecular biology data. Student preparation: Prior experience in microbiology, ecology, and biochemistry is helpful, however, introductory lectures will review the necessary principles of microbiology and molecular biology, providing a minimum background for the remainder of the course. This course is limited to graduate students who have permission of the instructor. The course will meet in C-319 Turner Hall. Restriction(s): Restricted to Graduate - Urbana-Champaign.
