Composition-structure-function relationships for musculoskeletal tissues, including bone, tendon, ligament, cartilage, and muscle; hierarchical structure of tissues from the macro- to nano-scales; relation of composition to mechanical properties of health and diseased tissue; experimental methods used to obtain mechanical properties.
