Topics covered will include clinical characteristics of Mild Cognitive Impairment and a range of dementia including Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal dementia; diagnosis of dementia; cognitive-linguistic evaluation and intervention approaches with special emphasis on evidence-based practice.

This course will use assigned readings and discussion to explore the role of sensory inputs in shaping brain structure and function. We will explore how congenital deafness and blindness leads to changes in visual and auditory functions, and relate those behavioral changes to unimodal and cross modal changes in brain function and connectivity.
