	60861	Lecture	UEE	9:00AM -11:50AM	F	19 Temple Hoyne Buell Hall	Greenlee, A Cutts, B	Part of Term: 1 Date Range: 01/20/15-05/06/15 Credit: 4 hours Section Title: Urban Environmental Equity Section Info: As part of a Focal Point initiative sponsored by the Graduate College, students from the biophysical and social sciences are invited to participate in a collaborative research workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to investigate relationships between stream contamination clean-up and community empowerment in Great Lakes communities. Students and faculty will work together to analyze interview data and construct community videos that can be used as outreach tools. This course is designed as an intensive workshop and students will be expected to attend at least one field trip as well as find time to work together outside of class. The goals is to create publishable original research. Students are not responsible for costs associated with field trips or data collection. Students are expected to complete Human Subjects Training prior to the first class meeting. We especially encourage students with interests or experience in GIS, community development, intensive interviewing, and/or urban stream contaminant removal to enroll (although these are not a required prerequisites). Undergraduates who wish to enroll must contact the professors for special permission.
