Students will explore current issues in New Media with the goal of understanding their own artwork in a disciplinary context. Through reading, writing, research and discussions, students will be exposed to significant work in their field.

3 undergraduate hours. No graduate credit. May be repeated to a maximum of 6 undergraduate hours. Prerequisite: Open to New Media majors or consent of instructor.

A two-part capstone course in new media art practice. Students will explore current issues in New Media with the goal of understanding their own artwork in a disciplinary context. Students are expected to participate through: 1) the presentation of students' creative projects for the purposes of critique and discussion 2) the presentation and discussion of historic art works and theoretical texts. A primary goal of the course is to synthesize an understanding of new media art from relevant professional, historical and theoretical perspectives.
