Environmental Political Theory
Section Info:
PS199. Environmental Political Theory. This course aims to introduce students to the field of environmental political theory. Particular attention will be given to the depth and seriousness of the problem that climate change poses for political life. Specifically, we will examine various ways in which the environment can inflect and shape both politics in general and political theory in particular. Approaches and topics to be introduced include green democratic theory, emerging discourses of resilience, and reappraisals of the role of the nonhuman in human affairs. No prerequisites are required for this course.
