Section Info:
This course focuses on how undocumented immigrants in the United States have historically been constructed as a "problem" and on various ways that political and other authorities have consequently sought to govern them. Topics might include nativism, criminalization, illegalization, border policing, deportation, detention and incarceration, welfare reform, anti-immigrant policy activism, and immigrant rights. First Year Discovery Program Course. Registration restricted to freshman. Students should enroll in only one DIscovery course.
