Students hould enroll in only one Discovery course. In fields as wide-ranging as agriculture and the arts, business and biology, or computer science and communications, landscape is a powerful, shared concern. Yet, definitions of landscape vary enormously, extending from objects and conditions to ideas and actions. That diversity makes landscape one of the most complex words in the English language today?and also one of the most interesting. Through an intersection of thinking and making, this course aims 1) to introduce students to the rich potentials of landscape as a topic of intellectual inquiry and creative production, and 2) to help students develop a meaningful basis through which to engage landscape in future work, regardless of their chosen field. Restriction(s): Restricted to First Time Freshman students.
