Study of the major authors and texts of the early modern period (Renaissance and Baroque) with particular attention to the cultural and political contexts of sixteenth and seventeenth century Span.

3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. May be repeated to a maximum of 6 undergraduate hours or 8 graduate hours if topic varies. Prerequisite: SPAN 310 and SPAN 318.
