This course examines theoretical and programmatic aspects for child welfare practice. Emphasis is placed on the roles and functions of child welfare workers, including engagement, assessment, intervention and permanency planning.

This course is a blended online and face-to-face class. It will meet in Room 2023 from 5:00-6:30 p.m., 1010 W. Nevada on the following dates: 8/26, 9/9, 9/23, 10/7, 10/21, 11/4, 11/18, & 12/2. Contact Instructor for more information. It is highly recommended that students complete SOCW 401 and 451 before taking this course.
