Topic: Prosody in phonology and phonetics. This seminar focuses on the prosody of spoken languages, covering phenomena related to stress, intonation, and the timing of speech. Readings will be drawn from traditional and current literatures, including theoretical and laboratory/experimental approaches. Students will discuss articles and learn research methods for the study of prosody, including hands-on training in prosodic annotation and acoustic modeling.
