This course will prepare international students for their transition to campus through examining expectations, focusing on the purpose and value of the higher education experience from a US perspective, introducing critical concepts to know about your academic program, and planning for your four years of studies and personal and professional development. This course is a complement to LAS 101 and does NOT replace it The online portion of this course will begin on July 18 and continue through August 15., and will include synchronous sessions on Wednesdays, July 23-August 13 at either 7:00-9:00 AM or 7:00-9:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST). The face-to-face portion will begin on August 20 on campus from 6-8pm, and continue through the first 8 weeks of courses. These sessions will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Access to this course is by application only. For more information or to apply, please submit your application at: go.illinois.edu/LAS199application. Applications must be received by July 14, 2014.
