Topic: Intro to Printmaking. This course offers an introduction and overview of print processes including screenprint, intaglio, collagraph, and relief printmaking. Over the course of several projects that cumulatively build skills, students will gain familiarity with the ink lab facilities, printmaking best practices, and conceptual concerns unique to print media. Projects that relate to work developed in other studio and design areas will be encouraged.

Digital Fabrication
Section Info:
Topic: Digital Fabrication for Artists and Designers. This class examines the role of digital fabrication in contemporary art and design through the combination of computer aided design software instruction (Rhino3d) and the use of digital fabrication equipment (laser cutter, CNC router, 3D printer). The emphasis of the course will be on quality of form and content rather than technical expertise. Through tutorials, projects and individual problems, students will examine the uses and implications of digital fabrication methods in their fields and their own practice.
