Examination of one or more aspects of musical performance defined by historical era, region, genre, philosophy, etc. Can include the study of the relationship between performance, improvisation and creative process; performance and publication; performance practices of a specific genre, period, or community; etc.

May be repeated to a maximum of 12 hours if topic varies. Prerequisite: MUS 313 and MUS 314, junior standing; or consent of instructor.
