Course Content: The basic principles of cognitive linguistics (continuity of linguistic & world knowledge, prototype structure, frame/schematic organization) are introduced and exemplified through the analysis of particular phenomena. In addition, issues in linguistic relativity, conceptual metaphor theories, Relevance Theory, and Construction Grammar(s) are discussed.
