Focuses on the scientific evidence regarding physical and psychological health benefits of exercise, physical activity, and physical fitness from the perspective of epidemiology and addresses the biological mechanisms for healthy adaptations. Reviews the empirical and theoretical determinants of participation in physical activity and exercise.
