Skills and knowledge essential for leisure-time activities which are classified as developmental activities. Prerequisites and descriptions for each developmental activity are provided in the Class Schedule. More than one activity (Sections A through Z) may be taken in the same term. May be repeated to a maximum of 2 hours.

There will be a fee assessed for use of Campus Recreation equipment.

Introductory skills and knowledge for development of life time activities in basic backpacking, basic river canoeing, and mountaineering techniques (balance, climbing, and rappelling). Includes participation in one field trip during the term. Prior to enrolling in this course, students must have basic swimming skills. The class will include two required half-day field trips on Friday afternoons (dates to be announced). There will be a course material fee for equipment, facilities, supplies and class activities.
