Credit: 3 hours.

Examines water quality in streams, rivers, lakes, and wetlands. The responses of watershed systems to pollution and other human impacts will be described in terms of their biological, geochemical, and physical processes. The technical analyses necessary to establish policies aimed at preserving or restoring these natural resources will be emphasized.

Prerequisite: One of CEE 330, CHEM 232, NRES 351; one of MATH 220, MATH 221, MATH 234.

The graduate tuition rate for this section is $362 per credit hour; the undergraduate tuition rate is $325 per credit hour. All students in this section will also be assessed a $50 per credit hour administration fee. These per credit hour assessments are not included in campus range assessments. Online scheduled class sessions require each student to have high speed internet access and either a headset with microphone or an external microphone and speakers so they may participate in the class discussions. Wireless internet is not recommended. This section has one or more proctored exams, which may carry additional fees. Proctoring options include fee-based ProctorU and approved proctoring centers, and testing facilities located at the Online & Continuing Education offices on the Urbana-Champaign campus, which carry no fees.
