Politics & Governance ........
Section Info:
Politics and Governance of the Global Society. This seminar develops two contested propositions: (1) That there now exists a global society, defined by the increasing scope, depth, and accumulation of interdependencies of multiplying state and non-state actors across all areas of human concern and (2) that the governance of this society ? the state system for order, global markets for welfare, and democratic rule for legitimacy ? are flawed, placing the global society at risk, absent their fundamental reform or transformation.
