TOPIC: Transformative Power of Computer Science. In this seminar, we'll identify, read, and discuss articles relating to how computer science has changed our society. We'll discuss topics ranging from how electronic media distribution has changed newspapers and record companies to the role that social media played in the Egyptian revolution and how networked sensors can provide police departments with the precise location of gunshots across a whole city. In addition to reading and participation in discussions, students will be responsible for writing a written summary of one of the discussions.
