Exploring Business Majors
Section Info:
Business 199: Exploring Business Majors offers business freshmen 50-minutes introductions to each undergraduate business major offered in the College of Business. Students gain an understanding of each major, transitioning into the first semester of their sophomore year with the knowledge needed to assist with declaring an appropriate major for his/her personal and professional goals. This 0-credit seminar (satisfactory/unsatisfactory) is strongly recommended for all second-semester business freshmen. The seminar will cover introductions to: corporate finance, risk management, wealth management, accountancy, the MAS (5th year), management, entrepreneurship, international business, marketing, business process management, information systems and information technology, and supply chain management. Facilitated by the Associate Dean, guest speakers will include faculty and corporate partners from each area. Students will also participate in an exciting speed majoring exercise to connect them to current students in each major.
