Section Info:
Computational Structural Biology. The course will provide a series of hands-on sessions during which the students will be introduced to application of available tools in computational structural biology, in particular to visualize and examine macomolecular structures, to model and to simulate their dynamics using molecular dynamics simulations, and to analyze and interpret the results. These hands-on sessions are complemented by oral lectures going over the theory behind the calculations, and providing several examples. After the initial 8 weeks, the students are expected to work on a term project of their choice (best related to their thesis research) and discuss/present their results at the end of the semester. Upon completing the course, the students will be able to easily examine and analyze protein and nucleic acid structures, and perform basic molecular dynamics simulations of the systems of their interest.
