The Housing Crisis
Section Info:
This seminar will explore the production of the housing crisis through its local and global economic, social, and political manifestations. Course time will be split between student-led discussions on various dimensions of the transformations that have collectively been labeled the crisis, and thinking about ways to understand the policy implications (and interventions) that seek to address the multiple forms of destabilization attributed to these transformations. In addition organization in Decatur, Illinois to examine local housing issues in relationship to larger national and global transformations. This seminar will also ask students to produce and original piece of research exploring the intersection of the crisis with a topic or issue of their choosing.
