Election Coverage
Section Info:
Experience the excitement of a presidential election year while also learning cutting-edge techniques in multimedia journalism. Upper-division journalism students will learn online, mobile, broadcast, print and social media skills while serving as members of the coordinating team of producers and editors for a real-world, multi-course project that will preview and cover the 2012 general election in non-traditional ways. Instead of focusing on the horse race, I-Elect will focus on issues and on devising unique journalistic methods to increase issue relevance among students. In addition to scheduled class sessions, students must be available to work on election night, Tuesday, Nov. 6. The course will conclude shortly after the election.
