Topic Section P: Reading and Performing Spoken Word Poetry, Dramatic Monologues, and Avant-Garde Poetry Students eager to read, evaluate, and perform spoken word poetry are encouraged to enroll in this pilot reading and writing workshop focused on spoken word poetry, socio-political poetry, dramatic monologues, and African American avant-garde poetry. Students will read and discuss spoken word and avant-garde poetry, write critiques, and memorize and perform original spoken word poems.
