Examination of the design and delivery of school social work interventions with special emphasis given to students with physical/mental disabilities and vulnerable populations. Course content provides a foundation for the development of a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of an ecological systems approach to social work practice based upon a foundation of professional values and ethics.

Prerequisite: SOCW 400.

Online and Continuing Education (OCE) restrictions and assessments apply, see http://www.oce.illinois.edu. This course uses a blended delivery utilizing both the Illinois Compass course management system for asynchronous content and Elluminate course delivery system for synchronous sessions. No elluminate session on Monday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. Students are required to have a reliable high-speed Internet connection (preferably not wireless), and a headset microphone for course interaction.
