Fast Reactor Science & Engineering. Pre-reqs: NPRE 455 and 448. Credit will apply towards tech elective hours for students in the Power Concentration. Fast reactors have teh potential to simultaneously address the nuclear fuel shortage as well as the wast issues. The science and technology of fast reactors in many ways differs from that of currently prevalent thermal reactors. This course will focus on the science, engineering and technology of the various fast reactor designs.
